The Mission of

The Arts Council of Mississippi County

is to enhance the quality of life for citizens of all ages by providing arts opportunities, assistance with artist development and utilization of all educational outreach channels to instill arts awareness and development.
The programming nucleus of the organization includes visual arts, theater, music and dance

    The Haunted Theater

As you probably know, The Arts Council Of Mississippi County provides a variety of programming during each year to help make the arts available to the people of Mississippi County.  One major area of emphasis for us is in delivering events for the students in schools throughout the area in order to provide them with personal enrichment and to help them develop an appreciation of the arts.  Most of our children’s programming is provided at no charge to them.

Our funding is provided through corporate sponsors, grants, ticket sales to some of our events, donations, and through a variety of fund-raising events we present each year.  One of those events is our annual Haunted Theater.  For this, the entire Ritz Civic Center is converted into

a spooky and creepy Haunted House.

Each year we start from scratch and build a new and imaginative Haunted House. We try to make it as scary and inventive as we possibly can. For those who are to young or just find it too scary, we have a "kid friendly" room where the little ones can watch movies, color and wait for the grown-ups to go through the Haunted House!   If you have been waiting for your chance to help support The Arts Council of Mississippi County, here it is!  Please consider helping us by attending The Haunted Theater which takes place at the end of each October.

Below are some pictures of past Haunted Theaters.
