The Mission of 

The Arts Council of Mississippi County 

is to enhance the quality of life for citizens of all ages by providing arts opportunities, assistance with artist development and utilization of all educational outreach channels to instill arts awareness and development.
The programming nucleus of the organization includes visual arts, theater, music and dance


 

Siamak Shahriari slated for Gallery Art Show
 

Dr. Siamak Shahriari PHD MD was the Gallery Artist for the month of November & December, 2010.

Born in Iran, Shahriari came to the United States in 1960. He earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in physical chemistry before getting a medical degree in gynecology and laparoscopic surgery.

He moved to Blytheville, AR, in 1994 to continue his practice. He is active in the ACMC and a board member of the gynecologic and laparoscopic society. He and his wife, Mahnaz, are active in the community and have organized such things as the annual writing contest in the schools.

Shahriari has always been interested in art. He took two semesters of painting at the Mississippi County Community College, now known as Arkansas Northeastern College. In addition, he enjoys sculpting and reading philosophy.
