Tonya
Harris is an Education
Advisor for the Educational Opportunity Center TRiO program at
Arkansas Northeastern College. She has been a Mississippi County resident all
her life. Tonya is a graduate of ANC, and holds a Bachelor of Science from
Arkansas State University and a Masters
degree from the University of Arkansas.
Tonya and her
husband J.D. have been involved with the Arts Council for many years. She has
served as Secretary for several years and was a past Treasurer. She is an
active board member and volunteer at events. She was a 2008 Blytheville
Leadership Institute graduate and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce where
she serves on the Pride in Property committee. Tonya is also an active member
of ACT 2!, the local community theater group, where she has served as the
Secretary and has appeared on stage in several of their productions. Tonya is a
member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and serves as the Chapter Advisor at
Arkansas Northeastern College, State Advisor for Arkansas and is the National
President on the 2009-2010 National Executive Committee. Tonya believes the
“arts” are a vital part of improving the quality of life within our community
and in Mississippi County. There are great things to do in Blytheville at the
