is to enhance the quality of life for citizens of all ages by providing arts opportunities, assistance with artist development and utilization of all educational outreach channels to instill arts awareness and development.
The programming nucleus of the organization includes visual arts, theater, music and dance

J.D. Harris works at Nucor Steel Arkansas as the Environmental Management Systems coordinator.  He came to Blytheville with the Air Force in 1984 and decided to make it his home.  He and his wife Tonya have been a part of the Arts Council for many years and he enjoys working backstage with the productions.  He is a graduate of ANC and holds a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State and a Master of Science from the University of Arkansas.

 J.D. also serves on the National Executive Committee for Gamma Beta Phi, a national honor society and service organization. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Business and Industry committee as well as the Blytheville Leadership Institute committee. His involvement with this arts started with him becoming a member of the local theater group ACT 2!, where he currently serves as vice president.  He enjoys helping with stage design and construction as well as working backstage for the productions, but has been know to step onstage.
