Candie Groves
has been married to Greg since 1997,
and is the mother of two children, Madison and
Charlie. Candie and her family have been residents of Blytheville since
2004.
Candie began actively working with The Arts Council in the
spring of 2008, and then became the Chair of the TAC Marketing
Committee in November 2008 and board Vice President in May 2009.
In May 2011, Candie graduated from Arkansas
State University in Jonesboro with
a BSE in World Languages & Cultures with an emphasis French and
also received a minor in Theatre Arts. She is employed at
Blytheville Primary School as the computer lab manager for the
2011-12 school year, and is looking forward to a
future career teaching high school French.
Candie is also very active in school and community
organizations. She is a former Girl
Scout leader
and has been an active part of Odyssey of the Mind since 1994 as
a competitor, coach, and judge. She has also been an active
member of ACT 2! Community Theatre since 2005 both on and off
stage, and was elected to serve as President in January 2011.
Candie's hobbies include working with children of all ages
through education and extracurricular projects, and
participating in all aspects of live theatre, especially acting,
directing, set construction, make up, and working backstage.
