The Arts Council of Mississippi County will be presenting the Arkansas Jazz Orchestra in concert at The Ritz, 306 W. Main in Blytheville on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $15.00 each, and children under twelve will be admitted free with paid adult.

     This will be one of the most exciting musical experiences around this area this year!  Eighteen of the most versatile and talented musicians in any part of the country are ready to give you a concert that will have you on the edge of your seat.  Who knows, you might even end up dancing in the aisles!  Drawing charts from some of the greatest Big Band Era jazz names of yesteryear, such as Basie, Ellington, Kenton, Herman, Rich, and many others, this group will mesmerize you with subtlety and then blow your socks off.

     It does not stop there.  The Arkansas Jazz Orchestra also plays hits from current artists such as the Tonight Show Band, Big Phat Band, and the Phil Collins Big Band.  These new hits include the toughest and most heart-pounding arrangements to come along in decades.  You have got to hear them to believe them.

     This will be the first program of the 2009-2010 Series for The Arts Council of Mississippi County.  Patrons and Sponsors will receive their tickets in the mail, and advance tickets are available at The Ritz at 306 W. Main in Blytheville.  Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the concert.
